So this week's '9O21O' was a big milestone for any TV series, it was the 100th episode, titled '9O2-100'. To tell the truth I actually expected much more from this episode as it is the 100th, I mean that's the time to pull out all the stops. To reinforce my point let's look at some other 100th episodes from teen dramas... One Tree Hill: A wedding, a runaway bride, a kidnapping, a psychotic nanny, returns from many fan favorites, a couple reunited. Gossip Girl: A royal wedding, the return of a psychotic schemer (I call her Georgina), a runaway bride, a confused bride, a runaway bride again and a big reveal. Unfortunately 'One Tree Hill' and 'Gossip Girl' are the only two teen dramas to actually celebrate the milestone or last as long as 100 episodes so they're the only examples I have right now. However, if I were to make a list of '9O21O's 100th episode achievements or shockers, it really wouldn't go that far because none of it was really shocking or made me care. Well that's my rant for this week over, let's get on with it... We kick off with Liam having nightmares about Vanessa's dead body underwater. This would be good and all if it wasn't just like Nathan's nightmares of a dead Haley underwater in 'One Tree Hill's season 3 finale. Anyway, Liam wakes up because Navid has come to apologize for the whole sex tape debacle but Liam isn't hearing it. We then find out that Dixon is officially the head of his own record label (that was fast) and Adrianna is the first act that he will be signing. At the burlesque club, Silver shows up to give her burlesque stuff back as she's quitting to have her baby. Meanwhile, Naomi is having a meeting with some West Bev High alumni club for women. This reminded me of Blair in season 4 of 'Gossip Girl' when she wanted to be accepted by some secret New York society clubs. However, Naomi has to compete with one other girl (named Felicity) to get a spot in the club and she must prove herself at the West Bev Homecoming Alumni event.
At said event, the whole gang is there in support of Naomi's wacky scheme, including Teddy! Although, the gang seems pretty peeved. Especially Liam but that's mainly because Navid keeps trying to be friends with him again. He even makes a reference to his season 1 bachelor party, that reference felt forced and awkward for everyone. Annie is making a 'what/where are they now' video for Naomi and she discovers that she's done basically nothing with her life. It's okay Annie, no-one from the gang has done anything good with their lives. While making her video, Annie gets a shock when she sees Crazy Cousin Emily and Creepy Jasper. Apparently Emily is doing really well though, I'm glad that she got her meds straightened out. Although, I wish Emily and Jasper would have teamed up to make Annie's life hell, that would have been very exciting for me to watch. On the roof, Silver and Teddy talk while they hit tennis balls. I love that they brought this back because that was one of my favorite '9O21O' things (there aren't many). In this scene we find out that Teddy and Shane broke up and Silver is so close to getting pregnant she just has to say when. Back with Naomi, to woo the alumni she has made plans for a new building of fashion and science. But when Naomi unveils the plans, the word 'bitch' is written over Naomi's picture, I found this very funny. However, it's been done before, refer to 'Pretty Little Liars' 206 'Never Letting Go' when 'A' wrote 'bitch' on Ali's photo at the fashion show.
Naomi believes that it was Felicity who vandalized her photo so she gets payback when the girls play football. Felicity is so injured from Naomi's sabotage that Naomi takes over Felicity's event. While all this is happening, Annie has a run in with Jasper who tells her that Liam owes him and that he has something he thinks Liam will want to see. After the football game, Shane comes to see Silver, he tells her that when Teddy got back to D.C., he told him that he wanted a more serious relationship and then Teddy bailed. Speaking of Teddy, he's hanging with Liam at The Offshore when Liam gets a creepy call that plays his 911 call back to him.
So Naomi's new event is a lingerie fashion show being held at the Playboy Mansion. Silver talks to Teddy about Shane and we find out that Teddy still feels burned from his past high school relationships. Liam and Annie haven't arrived at the event yet because Liam is checking out an open house that looks a lot like the house that Charlie (Annie's ex) used to share with his college friends. While looking at the house Liam confides in Annie and tells her what happened to Vanessa and that he is being blackmailed. Annie believes that this all has something to do with Jasper. Back at the Playboy Mansion, Silver tells Shane that Teddy is just afraid of his heart being broken. She then sees Vesta (one of her burlesque friends) and Silver agrees to dance with her in the lingerie show so she can set an example of being fearless for Teddy. Dixon hasn't arrived at the event yet either as he's setting things up for a studio meeting about Adrianna. He's putting together a demo reel of her work on his new Windows 8 laptop (shameless product placement) when he sees a video of Adrianna and Taylor kissing. Widows 8 obviously destroys relationships. Back at the event, the show starts with a burlesque dance featuring Silver. This was shocking to the characters but I was pretty bored. Although, I liked Silver's headband.
After the burlesque dance, Teddy sees what Silver was trying to do so he talks to Shane. Dixon and Adrianna also talk about their relationship but Adrianna lets it spill that she had sex with Taylor, now the relationship really is destroyed. Back with Naomi, she discovers someone breaking the heels of her shoes, this is Obese Recce, Naomi used to make fun of her in high school or something and now Recce wants payback. Especially because Naomi upstaged Recce's presentation earlier as Recce was going to announce that she was going to plant a tree but then Naomi made her presentation about the new building instead. So long complicated, unnecessary story short... Recce was the one who wrote 'bitch' on Naomi's picture and has been trying to sabotage her. All of a sudden Naomi feels bad about being a bitch in high school so she has Recce walk in the lingerie show and Naomi takes off her clothes and has everyone throw food at her to make them feel better. Also she gives a speech about what a bitch she was and how she isn't like that anymore and she's trying to be better. I liked the speech but none of it will stick, Naomi will always be unlikable and annoying, she's not even a good bitch like Blair Waldorf. Before all this stupid stuff, Annie and Liam find Jasper to question him about all the creepy messages Liam has been getting. Jasper actually had nothing to do with it and he just wanted Liam to read his script. This was so pathetic and unsatisfying, I was hoping for a dastardly scheme or a take down. Ugh, this show is so frustrating.
Later, Shane finds out that Teddy and Silver are making babies together and he gets upset. Meanwhile, Adrianna packs her bags and Dixon tells her that she signed a contract and he owns her. So Dixon is now the new Victor (remember Adrianna's creepy manager), really? I mean now '9O21O' is redoing its already bad storylines. We also find out that Brice got Max thrown out of his own company or something, it made no sense but yeah it happened. Annie got a blog, I liked this but she wasn't doing anything useful with it and it reminded me of Serena last season in 'Gossip Girl'. After this, Liam arrives at the bar to see Navid waiting to still apologize. Navid felt bad about the sex tape so he gives Liam a tape of his bar mitzvah. The last time I checked Navid wasn't Jewish, are they for real? Regardless of everything that has happened, Liam asks Navid to move in with him because why not? Lastly, we see that Vanessa is still alive and we're supposed to be shocked. Writing about this episode gave me such a headache because it was terrible. I really don't know what they're doing anymore and I hope this show gets canceled.
