Glee: Swan Song Recap/Review

Things were crazy last week on 'Glee' and this week's episode 'Swan Song' picks up moments after Marley fainted on stage. Everyone is trying to help Marley by getting her food or some juice, even Kitty seems to feel a little bad. Santana totally calls Kitty out when she says that Kitty is "a crazy evil bitch." Santana knows what she's talking about. The club needs to get Marley back on her feet because a club isn't allowed to leave the stage or they will be disqualified from Sectionals. But it's too late as Sue points out and we're told that The Warblers have won. In New York, Kurt tells Rachel everything that happened at Sectionals and they then talk about NYADA. It seems that Carmen Tibideaux hands out golden tickets to NYADA's winter showcase and it's a great honor to get one. So imagine just how happy Rachel was when she received a golden ticket. Back at McKinley, the choir room is being torn apart (literary) by Sue who is turning into her new rehearsal space. Saying as the Glee club has lost Sectionals, this means that they have also lost their rehearsal space and they have to find another place to practice. Principal Figgins confirms this and Finn has to hand over the keys to the choir room. Sue then admits that she feels bad about the Glee club. I blame Kitty for everything! However, the Glee club is blaming Marley, especially when Finn tells them that there will be no Glee club until next year as that's when they'll get the choir room back. It is not Marley's fault! Where's Santana? She knows the truth!

After the Glee meeting, Brittany finds Cheerios (like the cereal, not the cheerleading club) on the hallway floor which leads her to Sam who tells Brittany that he has all types of feelings for her. Sam and Brittany as a couple is a weird but interesting development. They then sing 'Somethin Stupid' which was an okay performance but a little boring. Sam is all in for a relationship with Brittany but she tells him that she doesn't want to offend the Lesbian community by dating him, I found this quite funny. Moving back to New York, Rachel steps on Cassandra's toes again but Cassandra is such a witch so I don't blame Rachel. They have a singing showdown when they sing 'All That Jazz' and all I have to say is that Lea Michele is amazing. After this performance, Rachel says that she's not as good a dancer as Cassandra but she's a better singer and I totally agree.

Kurt still has NYADA dreams so he goes to see Carmen Tibideaux about auditioning for the second semester. Although, Carmen tells him that she hardly ever gives anyone a second chance and then she sends him on his way. I don't know if I want Kurt to go to NYADA anymore because he's doing so well at Vogue.com but whatever. Back at McKinley, everyone from Glee club has joined a different club because they still want to compete at something in their senior year. Finn is super upset about this and he wants the Glee club to still have meetings in the auditorium. However, they can only book it for six minutes at a time. Marley seems like the only person who cares about Glee club anymore as everyone else is taking the whole Sectionals thing hard. After this, Brittany decides to ask Sam on a date because he makes her smile and that out weighs the lesbian community. In New York, it's time for the winter showcase and Rachel is so confidant that she kisses Brody. She gets up to sing 'Being Good Isn't Good Enough' and I gotta say, I love Lea Michele's vocals so much. In addition to this, Rachel sings 'O Holy Night' and again it's a spectacular performance. Once Rachel is done she gets a standing ovation and then Carmen Tibideaux announces that Kurt will also be preforming. Kurt is freaking out because he has no idea what he's going to sing but Rachel calms him down and he decides on 'Being Alive'. He does a good job but what about Vogue.com?

Rachel calls Finn because she wants to share all the good news with him. Finn has a small breakdown about the Glee club but Rachel talks him down and he congratulates her on the showcase (by the way, Rachel won! Yay!) I enjoyed this phone call and it reminded me of Kurt's call to Blaine last week. At the next Glee meeting Marley is the only person to show up and she tells Finn that she knows where they can practice. We are then treated to a voice-over by Finn of an email that he's writing inviting the Glee club to their new rehearsal space. This voice-over had 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' playing in the background and I loved it. This was followed by the Glee club all meeting at their new rehearsal space which is the outdoor cafeteria. The club sings 'Don't Dream It's Over' a great performance and a great song. Lastly, we find out that Kurt got into NYADA so yay! I can't wait to see next week's holiday episode, it looks really fun. See you then.
