The CW has decided to leave their season premieres until October, like last season.

The Carrie Diaries: Hush Hush Recap/Review

Everyone was keeping things 'Hush Hush' in 'The Carrie Diaries' this week. That's because there were so many secrets floating about, like Carrie's secret internship at 'Interview Magazine'. Which was going very well for our heroine who was really finding her place. At school though, Sebastian seeks out The Mouse so they can talk about how he wants to break up with Donna. Thus, Mouse spills that George and Carrie broke up. I think The Mouse and Sebastian are so funny together so I loved the majority of the scenes in this episode because they were in a lot together. Elsewhere, Maggie was keeping her secret from Walt still but he knows something's up. After school, Sebastian breaks up with Donna at the diner, she takes it surprisingly well. However, she asks him to wait until after the school's lock in to start telling people as she's the event organizer and she doesn't want her moment ruined. Back at 'Interview', Carrie has been roped into being a shoe model as no-one else can fit into the Manolo Blahniks. This was one of my favorite scenes because we got to see Carrie fall in love with her one true love, Manolo's. If you're a fan of the original 'Sex and the City' series then this was a big moment and there's another one coming later. Firstly though, Larissa gives Carrie the shoes and then invites her to a nightclub named 'Limelight'. Larissa has asked Carrie out the same night that the lock in is happening at school so she has the perfect excuse.

The Carrie Diaries: Caught Recap/Review

'Caught' is the title of this week's episode of 'The Carrie Diaries' as most of the characters were caught in some kind of sticky situation. Also, this episode was perfection, the only downside is that there was no Walt this week. However, there is a lot of Carrie and George getting hot and heavy at her internship while the girls discuss their love lives at the diner. We learn that a dance is coming up and Carrie isn't sure if she should ask George or not. Additionally, she feels like there might be something else there with Sebastian. Donna squashes that theory though when she thanks Carrie for taking Sebastian in for Thanksgiving. If Sebastian really did like Carrie then he wouldn't have told Donna about Thanksgiving but he did so she asks George to the dance. Later at the Bradshaw house, tickets arrive for The Nutcracker which is something that Dorrit and her mom used to do together but Carrie thinks it would be better for Tom to take Dorrit this year. The next day in New York, Larissa shows Carrie her purse in 'Interview Magazine' and she then offers Carrie an internship. Obviously Carrie is on the fence because she already has an internship at the law firm but I think she should totally take the Interview job!

The Carrie Diaries: Endgame Recap/Review

It was Thanksgiving, 80's style, on this week's episode of 'The Carrie Diaries'. In 'Endgame' Carrie tried her hardest to have the perfect family Thanksgiving in order to honor her mother's memory. Plus, things with George are just heating up so Carrie is juggling a lot. We learn that everyone has very special Thanksgiving plans; Sebastian will be spending the day with his mother, The Mouse will be eating at the country club, Maggie is going to Walt's house and Carrie will be helping her grandmother to cook. However, Carrie's grandparents get stuck in Florida so it's up to Carrie to save the day. Things would be going great if Dorrit wasn't trying to spoil everything like how she ruined their mother's recipes. In addition, Carrie finds out that her father has asked Harlen and George to dinner which just adds to the pressure.

The Carrie Diaries: Dangerous Territory Recap/Review

Carrie entered 'Dangerous Territory', known as the Upper East Side, in this week's episode of 'The Carrie Diaries'. Our favorite future columnist took a trip to 'Gossip Girl' town but she wasn't staying for long. Carrie makes her way into this world when a privileged boy (named George) asks her to his mother's upcoming party. This boy happens to be Harlen's (the owner of the law firm/Tom's friend) son. While at the diner, Maggie and The Mouse try to convince Carrie that this party could be the best thing for her to get over Sebastian or to get him back. But Carrie isn't about to play games. That is until Carrie sees Sebastian and Donna making out while she's trying to take her driving test. She gets so distracted that she ends up failing the test. Although, the day isn't a total wash because she then accepts George's invitation because if Sebastian can move on then so can she.

The Carrie Diaries: Fright Night (Halloween Episode) Recap/Review

It was appropriate that this week's episode of 'The Carrie Diaries' was named 'Fright Night' because I found it just frightening. Also, this was a Halloween episode, which is great as I love Halloween! Carrie and Walt plan to spend this holiday at a party being held by Larissa while Sebastian rents out the diner and holds a Halloween party in Castlebury. It's a good thing that Carrie is going to New York because Sebastian didn't invite her to his party anyway. Her and Walt dress up as Princess Diana and Prince Charles on their wedding day for the big night out. I love their costumes! At Larissa's party, Carrie meets a guy named Bennett that works at Interview Magazine, he is dressed as Alex from 'A Clockwork Orange'. Larissa on the other hand, is dressed as a bird. To get the party started, Larissa hands the teens some Ecstasy.

The Carrie Diaries: Read Before Use Recap/Review

Some things get better with time and 'The Carrie Diaries' proved that with this week's episode, 'Read Before Use'. Carrie starts off the episode with a voice-over about labels which is the theme of this week. I really loved this opening, especially because 'Head over Heels' by The Go-Go's was playing. After this, the girls talk about how Carrie's dad won't allow her to see Sebastian. This then turns into a discussion of whether Maggie is a 'Drama Queen' or not when they begin to talk about her and Walt's break-up. In New York, Carrie talks to Larissa about dating a bad boy. Larissa tells her that good guys are no fun, that is awful advice, Larissa.

The Carrie Diaries: Lie with Me Recap/Review

This episode of 'The Carrie Diaries' was titled 'Lie with Me' as it had the theme of lying running through-out. I thought it was a pretty enjoyable episode, my only criticism is that I wish Carrie spent more time in the city. Other than that, this was a really good episode that build on the 'Pilot'. Picking up from last week, Dorrit and Carrie are still grounded but they have used this time to bond and become closer. Whereas, Donna is proving to be a threat when she begins to get closer to Sebastian, especially when she runs into him at the country club. However, Maggie and Walt are a couple that seem to be coming apart saying as he isn't ready to have sex with her yet. The Mouse spots Donna and Sebastian at the country club so she quickly finds a phone to inform Carrie. The twosome are outside smoking pot but Carrie decides to trust Sebastian anyway. When Carrie asks Sebastian about the country club at school he tells her that it was "uneventful". Although, Donna comes strolling down the hallway wearing Sebastian's jacket from that night, leading our heroine to believe that Sebastian isn't all that trustworthy.

The Carrie Diaries: Pilot (Series Premiere) Recap/Review

The 'Pilot' episode of 'The Carrie Diaries' has finally arrived, I've been prepping for this show for a while now. A couple of months ago, I bought the first 'The Carrie Diaries' book but I didn't read it until December. At the same time I also watched the original 'Sex and the City' series including the two movies and I fell in love with Carrie Bradshaw. She's a woman that we can all relate to, a lover, a writer and an icon. Therefore, 'The Carrie Diaries' has some pretty big Manolo Blahnik's to fill. I felt that the first episode was done very well, there were a lot of storylines that I already knew about just from The CW promos and that left me wanting a little bit more from this episode. Although, it was just the pilot and it was still a pretty strong episode. So let's begin, it's 1984 and we start with Carrie having a dream about being in New York City but she then wakes up to find that the purse her mother left her is missing, so she goes to confront her younger sister, Dorrit. I really liked this opening because it felt like I was watching a movie. Anyway, Dorrit claims that she never took no purse so Carrie starts looking around anyway and she finds pot stashed in a drawer. This then leads to a physical fight between the sisters which Carrie's father has to break up. Carrie and the rest of her family are still reeling from her mother's death so there are very tender, soft moments in this episode. It's really nice to have those kind of moments, there needs to be more shows like that. Additionally, I think that AnnaSophia Robb is great, especially in those scenes and I really enjoy her as Carrie. To help Carrie feel better about the purse, her father allows her to wear her mother's sunglasses to school. At school, Carrie runs into her frenemie, Donna LaDonna but Carrie can't get away fast enough. She then meets her real friends The Mouse, Maggie and Walt (Maggie's boyfriend) who tell her that there's a new guy at school, Sebastian Kydd. As I've read the books, I know about Carrie and Sebastian's storyline which makes me have mixed feelings about him. However, the producers could change all that in the show but he doesn't seem too different than his book alter ego. It doesn't seem like the new guy is too new though, this is obvious as Sebastian walks right up to Carrie and starts talking about her mom. Maggie and The Mouse are instantly curious so the girls have a very 'Sex and the City' dish session in the school's library. Carrie tells them that she and Sebastian met last Summer at swim club. Then The Mouse admits that she met someone over the Summer named Seth and they had sex. Maggie also tells them that she had sex but it seems like she didn't have it with Walt. This leaves Carrie as the last virgin, a very big contrast to 'Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw. Outside, Carrie finds Sebastian sitting alone so she decides to talk to him. Flashback to last Summer: Sebastian and Carrie are at the swim club and he almost kisses her but she pushes him into the water and they end up kissing anyway. He then drops the bomb about his parents building a pool at his house, meaning they won't see each other again. Back in the present, Carrie builds up the courage to ask Sebastian to the school dance but her father arrives at school. The last time her father came to school, it was to tell her about her mother so out of fear Carrie faints before she gets the chance to ask Sebastian to the dance.
