Merry Christmas! That's right, the '9O21O' gang were celebrating the most wonderful time of year with 'The Things We Do for Love' this week. Unfortunately, things were less than wonderful. We start with Noami, Annie and Silver shopping for some Christmas presents. Naomi feels bad about Max being fired so she has to get him the best Christmas present ever, which turns out to be a car. Whereas Annie is worried about what to get Riley because she might be leaving for a writing program in Scotland. I have problems with this because Annie's blog is very badly written and it seems like she just woke up and decided to be a writer. That's not how it works, you gotta have a passion for it but there's no telling Annie. Lastly, Silver is getting ready to be a mother, all she needs is for Teddy to sign a release paper that states he won't claim rights as father or anything like that. At the rehab center, Dixon is complaining about having to buy people presents. Is he for real? Buying/giving is the best part! Where is his holiday spirit? Riley is then asked about taking part in an experimental surgery but he declines. At The Offshore, Navid and Adrianna are putting up decorations while they talk about Silver and Dixon. Don't Adrianna and Navid find it awkward talking about this with each other saying as they used to date? Over at Liam's new house, he gets a hamper from the film studio which has a document in it asking him to bring $500,000 to Baker State Park. When Naomi arrives home from Christmas shopping she discovers Alec and Max having a meeting.
Max and Alec are planning to start a new company but Naomi is having trouble with the thought of Alec back in her life. Meanwhile, Silver meets with Teddy to give him the release papers. Although, Teddy tells Silver that he actually wants to father this child. Silver isn't too happy about this because it ruins her plans. Moving backwards, Naomi doesn't want Alec and Max in another partnership so she goes to Brice who has just come off a hard break up and kicks Naomi out of her office. Annie then gives Riley his Christmas present which is a Windows 8 tablet, the product placement here is the worst. After this, she drops the bomb by telling Riley that she might be leaving for Scotland. For some reason this reminded me of when Brenda said she was leaving for London in the original 'Beverly Hills, 9O21O'. Riley is seriously not happy about Annie leaving because they basically just started dating and now she wants to go far away. Max is starting to agree with Alec and he asks Naomi not to interfere with his business. Navid then shows up because Naomi needs him to go on a date with Brice to get information on why she fired Max but Naomi doesn't tell Max this. In return, Naomi will help Navid set up for The Offshore's Christmas party. At Liam's house, Annie comes over to discuss Riley and she learns that Liam is in trouble. Annie offers Liam the money, she loves to give away all her money. However, she says that she'll be watching and videotaping from a different car to see who has been harassing Liam. While Adrianna is getting her hair done, she notices Vanessa in the mirror but Vanessa leaves before Adrianna can catch her.
Naomi is setting up for The Offshore Christmas party when Silver brings over a stuffed reindeer. We learn that Naomi and Silver have been passing the reindeer between them each Christmas ever since they were little. I think this is really cute, strange that we haven't heard of this before but it was a nice touch. The girls then talk about Teddy wanting to father Silver's child and they decide that it would be best if Teddy wasn't involved. On the CU campus, Megan and Dixon have coffee while they talk about the accident. I love Jessica Parker Kennedy's acting in this scene. Back at The Offshore, Adrianna comes to tell Liam about seeing Vanessa but Liam isn't there so she talks to Ashley instead. Ashley tells Adrianna that she'll take of it and she asks her to keep quiet in case Vanessa were to be tipped off. At this point, I started to feel like Vanessa and Ashley were in on it all together.
Dixon goes to talk to Riley about Megan and then they talk about Annie. Dixon is basically the voice of reason for once and he tells Riley to actually talk to Annie, then Riley tells Dixon to tell Megan that he was in the accident. On Navid's date with Brice he tries to get information out of her but he's not very sneaky, things go better after a few drinks though. Before The Offshore party, Max and Naomi get in a fight when he learns that she's interfered again. Liam then gets pulled over by Ashley and she arrests him to keep him safe from Vanessa. I don't understand Ashley's motives anymore. Back with Navid, he finds out that Alec got Brice her job by telling her everything she had to do in the interview then she promised to fire Max once she got the job. So Alec has been behind it all this whole time? He's the creepiest. When The Offshore party starts, Riley and Annie make up and then Dixon gives Annie her Christmas present: Tiny Tim can walk! Meaning... Dixon is done with treatment. I feel like Dixon recovered too fast but I'm probably wrong.
Silver tells Teddy that she can't let him be the father, he doesn't like this at all. While Tegan and Sara perform, Navid gives Naomi the information on Alec. At the other side of the party, Adrianna tries to make up with Dixon but he's still being the manager from hell. At Baker State Park, Annie is waiting in her car (like an idiot) for Liam's stalker. When she sees a car moving off, she decides to stop it by crashing into it. Vanessa just happens to be driving the other car so she was Liam's stalker all along. We knew this anyway didn't we? Ashley lets her crazy loose when she questions Liam about Vanessa. Liam puts the pieces together at the last minute and Ashley, thinking that Liam wants to get back with Vanessa, sedates him. I started laughing at Ashley because she looks like a squirrel and she's lost her nuts.
Shane talks to Silver about the baby situation and he tells her that they'll take it to court if she doesn't let Teddy be the father. They're kinda ruining Silver and Teddy's friendship right now. Megan goes to see Dixon at his apartment and he tells her about the accident. For some reason, Megan starts kissing Dixon. What's this all about? Moving on, Naomi yells at Alec about how he is destroying Max's life like he just wants it to be him and Max. She then realizes that Alec is gay and has a crazy crush on Max. I KNEW IT! I predicted this so long ago, I'm not sure which recap it was but I did predict it. Then Riley decides to do the experimental surgery because he loves Annie and wants to spend his time with her. When Naomi comes home to talk to Max she finds out that he has gone to a gamer's conference in Iceland. Annie returns to The Offshore with Vanessa to find Liam but we learn that Liam is handcuffed in the basement. Things just got interesting but we'll have to wait until January 21st to see what happens next. I have to admit though that this was probably the best episode of season 5 so far but that's not saying much.
