We might think that we've seen everything when it comes to 'Pretty Little Liars' but the Summer Finale, 'Now You See Me, Now You Don't', proved us all wrong. It all starts when a package arrives to Spencer's house addressed to all the Liars. Inside are four magic 8 balls, the fortunes reads: "If she goes free... You'll hear from me... Kisses... A." This means that if Ashley gets out of jail then 'A' is coming for the girls so basically 'A' just declared #WorldWarA! I'm so excited!!!
Travis has to pick Ashley out of a line up so she can walk free which he successfully does! At school, Ezra thanks Aria for hanging with him and talking out the whole Malcolm thing. Then she gets a call from Jake to arrange a date, Aria is a busy lady. After school, the girls get another package from 'A', this time it's a child's coffin and inside is a Mona doll. They also get a text from 'A': "Hanna won, so Mona loses. Find her before the cops or they'll think you killed her. -A". Things just got real, yo.
A drawing of CeCe appears on the news in connection with Wilden's murder. Looks like the girls were right about something for once. Spencer goes to Wren's house to find out what happened with Mona since she was last at Radley and Wren works there. Although, it looks like nobody's home until we see Shana hiding inside. What is Shana's damage? At school, Paige and Emily show up for French club because that's where Mona likes to go but still no Mona. Meanwhile, Toby has sads and downstairs he finds a piece of paper that Shana left behind.
Toby gives the paper he found to Spencer because it tells them that Melissa and Wren are moving in together. What? Please tell me that I misunderstood what was going on here! Spence and Toby also talk out his issues. Poor Toby. Later, Aria runs into Ezra at the Brew and she kisses him while Red Coat watches from outside.
Another day, another 'A' package. This time it's a magic trick with a saw inside. Spencer figures out the trick because apparently she can do magic too, is there anything she can't do? Written on the saw is a message from 'A': "Watch me make a girl disappear. Kisses, -A". This leads them to believe that 'A' wants them to go to a magic show, the closest magic show just so happens to be in Ravenswood. While the girls travel to the creepy town, Toby follows Shana. At the magic show, the magician makes Aria disappear and reappear but while that's happening 'A' kidnaps Emily and sends the girls another message: "Leger de main. Kisses bitches, -A". According to Spencer this means 'sleight of hand' so while the girls were watching Aria that's when 'A' struck.
The Liars call Emily who believes that she's stuck inside a coffin and she hears a sawmill nearby. The girls spot Red Coat running so they follow her to Ems' location. Inside, they try their best to turn off the sawmill but Red Coat turns it off for them. Red Coat is helping now? But hold up! There's two of them! Is there a team of Red Coats now? Spencer follows one to an apartment and Aria uses her new martial arts skills on the other, who is CeCe! Woah! We knew she was part of the 'A' Team but the girls were right, she was Red Coat! Unfortunately CeCe falls to her death. Bye bitch!
Just kidding! CeCe did fall but she gets up and runs away again! Gosh! Anyway, Spencer takes them to the apartment which is 'A's Lair! Elsewhere, Toby follows Shana to the River Valley Bed & Breakfast where Mona is. Is this where the 'B' Team meets? I need answers on this! Back in Ravenswood, they try to break into 'A's computer but they need Caleb to come and help. Did I mention that someone has been watching them through a peep hole... creepy! The girls find men clothes in the Liar leading them to believe that 'A' is a man and maybe 'A' is the older guy that Ali had been seeing. Then Aria finds a flyer for a period party celebrating Ravenswood's history with writing on it saying 'Tonight, Alison, 11:PM.' Is Alison still alive and is 'A' looking for her? Outside, Mrs. Grunwald tells the girls to stay away from the party and she tells them what really happened. Flashback!: Mrs. Grunwald is the one that pulled Ali's hand out of the dirt and she then took Alison to the hospital but when Grunwald got back, Alison was gone. In the present, Mrs. Grunwald still believes that Ali is alive. The girls decide to stay in Ravenswood for the party so they can find out the truth once and for all while Caleb gets on a bus to join them. Meanwhile, 'A' returns to their Lair and it turns out that 'A' is Ezra!!! Is Ezra the older guy!? Is 'A' setting Ezra up!? This can't be true! We then see 'A's costume for the party which is a figure in a gas mask. This show is insane! I can't wait for Halloween!
