9O21O: Into the Wild Recap/Review

Just when you think that it can't get much worse, here comes 'Into the Wild'. This episode of '9O21O' was supposed to air last week but was delayed due to Hurricane Sandy, I wasn't that heartbroken. If this episode aired last week then it probably would have ruined my Halloween break. Speaking of, The CW promoted this episode as being a Halloween episode. There was nothing about this that resembled Halloween so I'm extra pissed. Let's get on with it, the girls (Annie, Silver, Adrianna and Naomi) are having lunch when Naomi tells them that she plans to take Max away for the weekend so she can tell him that Alec kissed her. Meanwhile, Silver learns that her nude photos have been posted online. It's not the first time Silver has photos of her naked body going around town (remember when Adriana sent a sext blast out in season 3?) Also, Annie starts flirting with a perfectly random stranger. So a normal Beverly Hills lunch. At the UCLA campus we learn that Liam has enrolled (I thought Liam didn't want to go to college, remember how Annie cried at graduation cause Liam had other plans?) and got an 'F' on his first paper, his celebrity persona really isn't helping things when his new co-star (Carrie) shows up for publicity shots. Naomi then reveals her plans to Max but he decides that a camping trip will be better than spending time on a tropical island. Adrianna arrives home to find Taylor working with Dixon on his new track and Dixon gets Taylor to help with Adrianna's new music video.

Silver goes to see the photographer that took her photos so she can ask to have them removed from the photographer's website. However, the photographer tells Silver that she signed a release so she can put them online if she wants. But the photographer helps and takes them off her website and then she points out that this won't stop the photos from being on other websites because they're already out there. At Naomi's house, Silver tells the girls about her problem and Annie admits that the guy she met (Colin) is some kind of computer whiz but she's too embarrassed to call him. So Naomi calls him instead, can I point out that Naomi is the worst, characters are supposed to develop and become better people, Naomi has not. Back to the story, Navid is opening his new club soon, which used to be Liam's old bar and Dixon tells him that he's going to be the opening act. Liam shows up and tells the guys that he's gonna go on a camping trip too because he needs a break. Navid and Dixon come along for the ride.

Naomi surprises Max with a luxury campsite because she doesn't want to sleep in the dirt. Meanwhile, Colin helps Silver to erase all the photos of her online. Is this even actually possible and isn't someone just going to re-post the photos again later? Whatever, Silver doesn't seem to mind, she's actually starting to get a big head about this whole nude photo scandal. Annie then lies to Colin and tells him that she's dating someone else and Adrianna shows up to meet with Taylor cause apparently they're filming her music video in Naomi's backyard. Taylor's vision for this music video is having Adrianna swing on poles cause she's classy. Although, Adrianna thinks Taylor is just trying to seduce her even though he denies it. On the guys camping trip Navid is being very insensitive to the disabled and he tells Dixon that he feels that Dixon isn't fit to be opening his club. Dixon doesn't want to hear this nonsense so he drives off and leaves Navid all by himself.

Navid tries to call for help and he ends up talking to Carrie, he tells her that Liam is also lost (he went off to get firewood and never came back) so Carrie views this as a way to get more publicity. Back on Naomi and Max's trip, they run into Ryan Lochte in a pathetic, stupid and unnecessary appearance. Max and Naomi are here to do a swing course or something but Naomi doesn't take it too well. She is so selfish, can't she do something just to make Max happy? Why does it always have to be about Naomi?

Later, Adrianna practices her pole dancing moves for Taylor. At first I thought this was a daydream that Taylor was having because Adrianna was getting really sexual but no, Adrianna was actually trying to seduce Taylor. What happened to earlier when she was yelling at him for trying to seduce her? In a scene between Silver and Annie, Silver comes to the conclusion that her nude photos made her feel beautiful and Annie felt good about Colin asking her out. Back in the forest, Carrie finds Liam and convinces him that he can be himself and a celebrity at the same time, or something. During this heart-to-heart, Max performs a trust exercise on Naomi and this is her chance to come clean but she doesn't. Rolling my eyes at Naomi. Max then reveals that Alec already told him about the kiss.

It turns out that this was all a big set up and Alec told Max that if Naomi didn't come clean then she was untrustworthy. But if Max knew it was a set up then surely he knows that Alec was the one that kissed Naomi so why is he blaming her? Who knows, that relationship went downhill quickly though. Liam takes on Carrie's advice and he re-dos the paper that he failed but the professor rips it up without looking at it. Um, is that allowed? What professor would do that? Over with Dixon and Navid (he made it back safe BTW), Dixon tells Navid that he will be opening because Liam still owns the bar/club and Liam said he could, how childish. Rolling my eyes at these two. Silver then signs up to pole dance at a burlesque club. I don't think Silver is the type of person to take part in burlesque, the writers really don't understand these characters. The episode ends with Naomi planning a scheme to get Max back and take down Alec. Naomi does the same creepy stare into the camera that Alec did last week, next week Annie will be doing it. Horrible episode, worst yet. Not much else I can say.

Overall episode score:-
'Into the Wild' = D-
