Things just got more insane on 'The Vampire Diaries' this week with 'My Brother's Keeper'. I didn't think it could get more crazy but I was obviously proved wrong. This show is exactly how a TV show should be written, there should be a constant development of characters, stories etc. and the stakes should be raised. 'The Vampire Diaries' is successful in doing this and that's what makes it so enjoyable to watch each week. Rant over... We start with Stefan working-out in the woods while talking to Caroline on the phone. I love their friendship, it's gotten better over the seasons and I feel that Caroline is basically Stefan's new Lexie. Stefan tells Caroline that Elena said she has feelings for Damon which Caroline is very upset about because she's Team Stefan. As Stefan is about to leave his work-out spot, Klaus pops up to make sure that Stefan gets Jeremy to kill more vampires so they can find the cure. Sometime later, Damon catches Stefan leaving the Salvatore residence. When Damon asks Stefan where he's going Stefan reacts very moody and confesses that he and Elena broke up. Before Stefan exits, Damon says that they should find another hunter so Jeremy doesn't go off the deep end but Stefan isn't listening. At the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant, Caroline and Elena are having some girl talk about Damon and Stefan when Professor Shane interrupts, it seems that Shane is a pageant judge. Elena thinks that Shane is a little odd, it's good that they're catching on but they don't do much about it. Jeremy and Matt are also helping to set up the pageant, we learn that Matt will be Elena's date to the pageant and Jeremy will be April's (who is running for Miss Mystic Falls). Jeremy also shows us that he is now Superman strong because his hunter mark has been activated. Meanwhile, Stefan is lurking around the hospital trying to find murderers to turn into vampires and he succeeds in his mission. Back at the pageant set up, Klaus appears to remind Caroline that he was promised a date so the pageant will do fine. Caroline resists at first but then gives in. Haley and Tyler are trying to break the sire bond on another hybrid when the pageant set up is happening. Tyler then asks Haley to be his date for the pageant. At the Gilbert estate (LOL), Jeremy helps Elena put on a necklace but he's a hunter now so he strangles her with the necklace. But it was all a dream! A sweaty Jeremy wakes up with a stake and knife in hand though.
Jeremy confides in Matt when he tells him about the dream. Matt knows that stuff is going down and he tells Jeremy to tell Elena about the dream. But Jeremy gets a text from Stefan that goes something like this (I might be paraphrasing a tad): "Hey gurl! Come party with me in the Lockwood Cellar! :P Don't you go around telling anyone. Let's keep it our secret! ;)" So Jeremy goes off to see Stefan. At the pageant, April is getting ready with help from Elena and Caroline. They're trying to decide on a red or blue dress and both Elena and Caroline go with the blue. Damon then shows up to offer his opinion, he says that the red one looks better and Elena instantly agrees. Caroline gets upset with Elena but Elena has to talk to Damon so she runs off. When the duo are alone, Elena almost confesses her feelings to Damon (he's pretending like he doesn't know) but then Professor Shane ruins everything by showing up. Damon has to go talk to him because he is trying to find a new hunter but Shane is staying tight lipped. Damon then accuses Shane of having involvement with that Creepy Pastor's fire storyline. Shane doesn't seem too happy about it. Unfortunately, the pageant begins so Shane must go off and judge. Jeremy then meets Stefan in the Lockwood Cellar and Stefan makes him kill that vampire that Stefan turned earlier. Is Stefan for real!? He's gonna make Jeremy go crazy!
Back at the event, it's time for the Miss Mystic court to dance with their escorts. Jeremy is kinda busy killing vampires so he's not here to dance with April. That's when Matt steps in to take Jeremy's place, so nice of Matt. Before Matt and April go off to dance, he spills the beans to Elena about Jeremy's dream. While the girls and their escorts dance, Elena and Damon share some romantic looks across the dance floor. But Elena snaps out of it when Caroline comes over to ask what's up with Jeremy. Elena seems pretty worried until Damon comes over and tells her to relax. Caroline isn't happy when Elena just does what Damon says so Caroline and Elena get into a fight about Elena's choices in men. Damon finds out that Stefan has been making Jeremy kill vampires. Jeremy then turns on Stefan and stabs him, I knew this would happen because Stefan is an idiot.
Caroline rants to Klaus about Damon and Elena's relationship and he tells her that it'll all make sense. She then asks him if he ever considered being human again and he admits that he has but only once. After this, Klaus pulls out Caroline's Miss Mystic Falls application from last year and starts reading it, this is the most playful we've seen Klaus in a while. Tyler watches on, clearly annoyed by Klaus and Caroline's budding relationship. Jeremy finally arrives at the pageant but he's packing heat. Meanwhile, Damon corners Shane to get answers but Shane says it's impossible to find another hunter. Damon is getting real inpatient so he lets Shane know that he's a vampire. Shane then tells Damon that if he finds the cure then it's sealed with a spell that can only be broken by a Bennett witch so the gang needs Shane around to retrain Bonnie. Outside, April wins the Miss Mystic Falls title because why not? Jeremy and Elena then have a confrontation inside in which Jeremy stabs Elena and almost kills her but Matt comes just in time. Then Stefan arrives but Matt was handling the situation just fine and he didn't need Stefan's help.
Stefan tells Elena that he's been having Jeremy kill vampires and Elena puts him in his place. Meanwhile, Jeremy packs his bags to move out as he can't live with Elena anymore in case he kills her. But Matt tells him that Elena has already moved out and Matt will be living with Jeremy for a while. Elena moves into the Salvatore's but I was hoping that she would move in with Bonnie or Caroline instead cause these new living arrangements are awkward. Although Stefan moves out so it's not that awkward. Everyone is playing musical homes it seems. Haley and Tyler's hybrid friend breaks the sire bond and we find out that Haley has something to do with Shane too! She's working for him to break the hybrids or something. There's then some cute Damon and Elena moments and she says that she wanted to dance with him earlier so they get up and dance. Caroline is being an enabler while Stefan is being real jealous and Caroline believes that Elena is sired to Damon as he turned her and that's why she does everything he says. They figure this out while Damon and Elena are having sex and it all feels so bad all of a sudden. BOOM! Episode over! See ya next week for another thrilling episode!
