The Carrie Diaries: Caught Recap/Review

'Caught' is the title of this week's episode of 'The Carrie Diaries' as most of the characters were caught in some kind of sticky situation. Also, this episode was perfection, the only downside is that there was no Walt this week. However, there is a lot of Carrie and George getting hot and heavy at her internship while the girls discuss their love lives at the diner. We learn that a dance is coming up and Carrie isn't sure if she should ask George or not. Additionally, she feels like there might be something else there with Sebastian. Donna squashes that theory though when she thanks Carrie for taking Sebastian in for Thanksgiving. If Sebastian really did like Carrie then he wouldn't have told Donna about Thanksgiving but he did so she asks George to the dance. Later at the Bradshaw house, tickets arrive for The Nutcracker which is something that Dorrit and her mom used to do together but Carrie thinks it would be better for Tom to take Dorrit this year. The next day in New York, Larissa shows Carrie her purse in 'Interview Magazine' and she then offers Carrie an internship. Obviously Carrie is on the fence because she already has an internship at the law firm but I think she should totally take the Interview job!

Maggie is all for Carrie taking the job at Interview. Although, The Mouse then enters the diner with her own problems. Mouse has gotten a 'B+' in a recent test and she's really upset about it because she feels like her relationship with Seth is now affecting her grades. She also learns about Carrie's new job offer to which The Mouse replies: "That mad woman in heels!?" I don't know why but I loved this line, The Mouse is for reals the best. Maggie thinks that Carrie should just sneak around and take the job but The Mouse feels that Carrie should involve Tom in the conversation. Afterwards, Carrie tries to talk to Tom about the internship but he just tells her how hard it was to get the law firm job before she gets the chance to mention Interview so Carrie just keeps it to herself.

Mouse tracks down the teacher that gave her the low grade, the teacher allows The Mouse to do extra credit but it must be done by 8pm that night. This is tricky because the dance is also later that night. As Carrie is getting ready for the dance (she looks like a fairy), she receives a package from Interview which has the finalized copy with her purse in it. Moving along, it's time for the dance! I actually wanna go to this dance, it looks so fun and retro. Unfortunately, Mouse doesn't have her extra credit work done yet so she sneaks off to finish it. At the theater, Tom and Dorrit arrive for The Nutcracker, she's wearing her mother's dress and a mighty big attitude. Back at the dance, Maggie had to go stag because poor Walt had the chicken pox. This doesn't seem to bother her until everyone pairs off for a couples dance.

At the punch bowl, George and Sebastian awkwardly meet for the first time. Outside, Maggie stumbles upon Simon and the two start making out because she feels so alone. This kinda sucks because I don't wanna see Maggie regress. Back the the theater, Dorrit gets pissed when Tom falls asleep during the show. At school, The Mouse misses her deadline and the janitor catches her trying to break into the teacher's classroom. Meanwhile, Carrie and George are dancing all romantically but Sebastian ruins it by staring at them like a stalker. Carrie gets really annoyed with him so she gives him a piece of her mind then kisses George to spite him and the two go somewhere quiet. Donna sees all this going down and she isn't too happy when her man gets all jelly.

Dorrit finds out that her father only fell asleep because he stayed long nights at work so he could take the night off to be with her. I'm glad that Dorrit finally realizes how annoying she is. In Castlebury, The Mouse doesn't get in trouble because the teacher believes her story but she doesn't get the extra credit because she was still late. Outside, an angry Donna sees Maggie crawl out of the back of a cop car with Simon. Inside, Donna gives Maggie an ultimatum: Maggie keeps Carrie away from Sebastian or Donna will tell Walt about Simon. I would be scared if I were Maggie because Donna clearly means business! In a limo, George wants to get it on with Carrie but she isn't ready so she resists, he then starts acting like a major douche so she cuts him loose. Go Carrie!

The Mouse and Seth talk after the dance and they both realize that they've been slipping recently so they decide to break up for now. In addition, Maggie tells Carrie the truth about Simon, Mags definitely made the right decision by telling Carrie about Donna's evil plan. But Carrie says that Maggie needs to also tell Walt the truth. Later, Carrie decides to take the internship at 'Interview Magazine', without telling her father. I am really loving this show and I hope it doesn't go anywhere! Sadly there's not many more episodes left. But I'm holding out hope for a second season.

Overall episode score:-
'Caught' = A+
