The Carrie Diaries: Dangerous Territory Recap/Review

Carrie entered 'Dangerous Territory', known as the Upper East Side, in this week's episode of 'The Carrie Diaries'. Our favorite future columnist took a trip to 'Gossip Girl' town but she wasn't staying for long. Carrie makes her way into this world when a privileged boy (named George) asks her to his mother's upcoming party. This boy happens to be Harlen's (the owner of the law firm/Tom's friend) son. While at the diner, Maggie and The Mouse try to convince Carrie that this party could be the best thing for her to get over Sebastian or to get him back. But Carrie isn't about to play games. That is until Carrie sees Sebastian and Donna making out while she's trying to take her driving test. She gets so distracted that she ends up failing the test. Although, the day isn't a total wash because she then accepts George's invitation because if Sebastian can move on then so can she.

Carrie shops at Century 21 for the perfect dress to wear to the party. Her Scary Boss Lady even helps her out as she knows George's mother personally. Scary Boss Lady then reveals that she likes Carrie! I should really learn Scary Boss Lady's name. At the Castlebury diner, Mouse is having problems with sex. The problem being that she doesn't know what to do or if Seth is still interested. Then Donna tries to claim the diner as her own so Maggie takes on Donna and her posse. Back in the city, Tom has lost his wedding ring and it's eating him up until he finds out that his wife lost her ring three times when she was still alive. At school, The Mouse is still feeling a little down so she goes to Walt for sex advice. This scene was really funny, I tend to like any scene with Walt or Mouse in it. Meanwhile, Tom backs his car into some lady on his way home. Oh Tom, why are you always doing stuff like this!? Later, George picks Carrie up at her the law office but he leaves it until then to inform her that this is a formal event which is bad because Carrie is wearing a cocktail dress. It's okay though because Scary Boss Lady and Carrie fix the dress when they sew a tutu onto it at the last minute. After this, George's mother isn't too impressed with Carrie when she and George get to the party.

Walt helps The Mouse by showing her a porno so she starts taking notes. At the diner, Donna has taken over Maggie's table while she was at the bathroom. You never leave you're base unprotected, Maggie!!! In New York, George's ex-girlfriend (Blythe) is getting a little too close for Carrie's comfort which just makes the night worse as Carrie is already having problems trying to fit into this world. Then George leaves to help his mother and Blythe tells Carrie that George will get tired of her soon. However, Carrie stands up for herself and knocks a plate out of a waiter's hand in the process.

For some support, Carrie calls The Mouse who is getting ready for her big night with Seth. The Mouse and Seth get it on while Maggie continues her fight with Donna and Carrie rejoins the party. After sex, Seth tells The Mouse it's obvious that she's slept with someone else since she's gotten so good. Also, he admits that he has slept with other people. Back at the party, Carrie hears George's mother badmouthing her so she walks out and George follows.

George catches up with Carrie to tell her that he doesn't view her the same way his mother does. After that, Tom takes the lady he ran over home and she gives him her number. He's not necessarily gonna use it but he's ready to if he wants. At the diner, Donna is still holding on when Sebastian comes to meet her. Maggie lets it known that this is Carrie's safe place so Sebastian has Donna back off. VICTORY! In The Mouse's bedroom, Seth starts freaking out about this guy that she has slept with so he tells her that he'll calm down if she tells him who it was. Without having anyone better to say, Mouse blurts out that it was Walt. Inside the party again, George's mother figures out that Carrie is a Bradshaw which is good because she used to hang out with Carrie's mom. This was a nice scene because we're told that Carrie's mom used to wear a flower on her lapel, just like the adult Carrie in 'Sex and the City'. The next day, Carrie passes her driving test. Then Seth meets Walt at the diner so The Mouse has some explaining to do in a funny situation. After, Carrie even teaches George how to drive! I feel like one episode a week of this show isn't enough! I'm so excited to see next week's Thanksgiving installment, it looks hilarious. P.S. Scary Boss Lady's name is Barbara

Overall episode score:-
'Dangerous Territory' = A
