Glee: Thanksgiving Recap/Review

'Glee' is a little bit late with this episode, 'Thanksgiving' but it was one of my favorite episodes from this season. I wish that all the series regulars could be in every episode because it really helped to advance the plot and made this whole episode even more enjoyable. So everyone is back in Lima for Thanksgiving which is why Quinn, Puck, Mercedes, Santana, Mike and Finn all start the episode with 'Homeward Bound/Home'. I've really missed hearing all the old voices so I enjoyed this song just because I liked to hear Santana and Mercedes' voices together again. Marley then has a voice-over in which she tells us about a dream she had, in the dream she was on stage and ready to sing. I really liked how Marley talked about her dream, it really intrigued me. Well now her dream is coming true as sectionals are coming up. The old gang hang out at Breadstix and talk about their current lives. I love how Quinn said that she and Rachel still keep in touch. The next day, Finn pairs the new Glee club members with the old members, the old members acting as mentors. Puck is with Jake, Mike with Ryder, Marley with Santana, Kitty with Quinn and Wade with Mercedes. Finn then tells the Glee club that they will be preforming 'Gangnam Style' at sectionals. All the guys with be trying out to be lead male dancer with Mike and Finn judging. After the club meeting, Jake tells Ryder that he and Marley went out and Ryder seems fine with it. So they're cool now? I'm okay with this. In New York, Rachel and Kurt decide to not go home for Thanksgiving and instead they'll have their own orphan Thanksgiving.

In the 'Gangnam Style' try outs, Jake throws it so Ryder can be the lead. Then Quinn, Santana and Brittany preform for old times sake. They sing 'Come See About Me', the song was a little bit slow for me but it's nice to see this trio sing again. Kitty then tells Quinn that she's basically a creepy stalking that wants to be just like Quinn. Back with Rachel, she sees Brody for the first time since she found out he slept with Cassandra when he takes her class. Apparently Cassandra has been hitting her liquor hard, the holidays are tough for everyone. I think Brody is a jerk for sleeping with Cassandra but Rachel gets over it quickly and then invites Brody to her orphan Thanksgiving. Back in McKinley, Kitty told Quinn that Jake has been pressuring Marley to have sex with him so Quinn finds Jake in the halls just to yell at him. Quinn needs to back off, Kitty is a liar, why doesn't Quinn see that?

When Kurt is leaving the Vogue.com offices he sees Isabelle who talks to him about Blaine and then Kurt invites Isabelle to his and Rachel's Thanksgiving. I seriously love Isabelle, can Sarah Jessica Parker be a series regular? Please!? In the choir room, Santana comes to talk to Quinn about Kitty because Santana is onto her malicious schemes. Quinn then starts talking about how Santana is stuck in high school and Quinn's life is much better now. She actually says that she's helping one of her professors have an affair, of course she is. Santana and Quinn have a smack-down which ends in a slap-down. Meanwhile, Ryder is having trouble learning the moves to 'Gangnam Style' so Jake helps him out. Jake is a super good dancer because he does ballet.

Rachel, Kurt and Brody prepare for Thanksgiving dinner while Marley prepares for sectionals. Marley admits in voice-over that she feels really hungry and I feel really bad for her. LET MARLEY EAT! It's also at this point that I know something might happen on stage later. Marley then sees Unique in the hallway and the whole Glee club has a prayer circle before sectionals. The Warblers kick off sectionals with 'Whistle', a fun performance and I really like this song. This is followed by The Warblers singing 'Live While We're Young' which is such a catchy song and another fun performance. In New York, it's time to eat but Isabelle and all her friends stop by for a Thanksgiving party. This begins the performance of 'Let's Have a Kiki/Turkey Lurkey Time', I enjoyed this performance more than I should have. At this point I was wondering were Sue was and we cut back to sectionals and see Sue, I must be psychic. Before the New Directions perform Kurt calls Blaine to tell him that he still wants to be friends and that he still loves him. That was such a nice phone call for Kurt to make, it broke my heart a little and I kinda miss Blaine and Kurt being a couple. After the phone call, Isabelle sees Kurt crying and gives him a hug, I loved this moment.

Marley has a breakdown before showtime, I feel terrible for her. Jake is helping her through but Ryder interrupts their moment to tell Jake that he has to be the lead male in 'Gangnam Style' so they can win sectionals. They finally go out and perform 'Gangnam Style' after this and this is another performance that I enjoyed too much. But at the end of the song, Marley collapses from hunger and stress. I knew this would happen! Poor Marley, someone give this girl a doughnut! I HATE KITTY SO MUCH! I really enjoyed this episode, it was great and I hope next week's is just as good.
