Gossip Girl: Save the Last Chance Recap/Review

It was a very topsy-turvy twisty episode of 'Gossip Girl' this week with 'Save the Last Chance'. I lot went down and so much more developed. We started in bed with Dan and Serena who think that they should make amends with all their friends so they can finally come out as a couple. When I saw Dan and Serena in bed like that I expected Jenny to walk in, snap a pic and send it to Gossip Girl but no such luck. While Serena and Dan enjoy their morning, Bart has been turning Chuck's hotel room upside-down looking for the micro-film that could send him to jail if it were to leak into the wrong hands. Too bad that it's already in the wrong hands, Ivy's hands to be exact. Ivy basically owns these bitches now and she makes sure that they know it. We find out that Nate is still having finical problems with The Spectator but that's not nearly as interesting as Serena's efforts to be besties with Blair again. Blair is having none of it because her new line launches in a couple of hours and she doesn't want Serena to ruin it. Nelly Yuki appears again just to let Blair know that she'll be at the event tonight so it better be good. I'm not being rude or anything but what is Nelly still doing here? I'm not complaining but doesn't she have better things to do? Back in Chuck's hotel room, Ivy tells Chuck and Bart that whoever comes up with a plan to humiliate Lily will get the micro-film, until then she'll be waiting. However, she won't be waiting with Rufus but instead she's waiting in the Empire Hotel with William van der Woodsen! Ivy is actually in a relationship with William and is just pretending to like Rufus. Ewwww, what is up with this girl? Does she have a daddy complex? Anyway, William is in on Lola and Ivy's plan to take down Lily. Why? I don't really know but Lola brought Ivy and William together and that's why they are now a creepy item.

Serena comes up with a plan to help Blair's event and it goes something along these lines: Serena will send a photo of her and Steven kissing into Gossip Girl, leading Sage to believe that they are back together, Sage will come to Blair to help her break Serena and Steven up again, Blair will then use Sage and Sage's contacts to make her event a success and in return Blair will break Serena and Steven up who aren't really dating again anyway so Blair doesn't have to do anything. Phew! It was a kinda complex plan. Speaking of plans, Bart calls Lily to tell her about Ivy's and he says that he thinks Chuck will go along with it. Although, Lily thinks that Chuck wouldn't hurt her and I agree but I'm still scared that he might. Serena's plan takes off when Sage comes to Blair for help concerning Serena and Steven. Blair agrees to break up the not-really-together Serena and Steven but she wants a meeting with some elite council that she created in her high school days. Meanwhile, Lily meets with Rufus to ask him to take her side in this battle with Ivy but he declines and leaves though it's not long until Rufus then sees Ivy kissing a mystery man (William). Oh snap! Ivy's been caught. At The Spectator, Bart blackmails Nate into giving him information on Chuck's plan to get the micro-film.

Blair meets with the council in a fun scene and they agree to come to her event. I wish we would've seen Blair meet with the council in her high school days saying as she created it. At the Empire hotel, Chuck meets with Ivy to hatch a plan and it goes like this: Chuck is going to record Lily at Blair's event saying that she knows about Bart's dirty dealings so she will be sent to prison with Bart and be humiliated like Ivy wants. However, this isn't the real plan, the real plan is: to have Ivy meet with Chuck (which she is now doing) so Dan can search the loft for the micro-film and Chuck doesn't have to hurt Lily at all (I knew he wouldn't). All is going well on Dan's end until Rufus arrives home but that's okay because Dan has to make amends with Rufus anyway. Ivy shows up and Dan leaves in a hurry as Rufus has told him about spotting Ivy with some dude. Rufus confronts Ivy about her two-timing nasty ass but she ain't even feeling guilty, she's happy to be released from Rufus. Things are going well for Blair though and she seems to finally be back on top. That is until Sage finds out that Steven and Serena aren't actually back together and she tells the council to bad mouth Blair's designs. In a confusing turn of events, Bart calls Ivy to tell her about Chuck's real plan and he gets Nate to confirm it. TRADER NATE! TRADER! Bart now has a new offer for Ivy. Also, while Ivy is on the phone, Rufus rushes out of the loft, that's not suspicious.

At Blair's event, the council comes to make Blair look bad so Blair must keep Nelly Yuki away from them. Ivy meets with Bart at the Empire and he brings divorce papers for Ivy to leak so it will humiliate Lily but Ivy doesn't think this is enough so she tells him to take off his clothes, they're going to make it look like they had sex and then Lily will never show her face again, Ivy is sick. Back with Blair, she starts telling off Serena because she believes that Serena told Sage that she isn't back with Steven. However, instead of Serena shouting back at Blair, she calms her down and praises her. I was actually very surprised at how Serena handled the situation because I expected them to fight again and some of the things she said to Blair were really nice. Also, the council can't resist Blair's clothes and they all start fighting over them while Nelly watches, yay for Blair. But it's sad times for Chuck when he finds out Nate double crossed him. That's okay though because Nate tells Chuck that Bart and Ivy are currently meeting in a hotel room. Chuck busts through the door but when Ivy hands the envelop of micro-films over, Bart opens it to discover nothing inside. It was Rufus! He stole the micro-films and gave them to Lily.

Ivy suspects that William must have the micro-film but Chuck gets a text from Dan who stumbles upon Rufus and Lily. Dan sees that Lily has the micro-film and tells Chuck about it in the text so Chuck sneaks away. Things are crazy at Blair's event but in the middle of the chaos Serena and Blair have a heart to heart. Anyway, Chuck finds Lily and begs her to not destroy the micro-film but she throws it in the fire. Wake up, Lily! Not only is Chuck upset about the micro-film but he thought he could trust Lily and now it's obvious that he can't.

Ivy is frightened of Bart because he has promised to take her down now that Lily has destroyed the micro-film. So Ivy and William plan to runaway, is this the end of those two? Is that it? Really? Is Ivy leaving forever? Bart is also terrorizing Nate as Bart calls him just to say that he is still under his thumb and what a big thumb it is because it seems like the whole of Manhattan is under Bart's thumb. At the Empire, Chuck tells Blair that they can't be together because he didn't destroy Bart. Why does this keep happening to those two? Ugh! I actually find it kind of funny because Dan and Serena are so happy when everyone else is miserable. But not for long... Dan gets a call from Georgina in which he tells her that he's writing a Serena chapter. So Dan is just using Serena!? I feel terrible for Serena now because she really wants Dan and he's just screwing her to screw her over, damn you Humphrey! I knew that there had to be a catch though, things were just going too well for those two.
